Printify product export guide

How to Export Printify Products, Variants and Mockup Images

If you need a spreadsheet of your Printify listings or a backup of product details, start by deciding what you need to save. Products CSV summarizes listings, Variants CSV captures individual variants, JSON preserves the full product data structure, and mockup images are the product preview pictures. Product Exporter for Printify is an independent Chrome extension for this read-only workflow. Its prepared v1.0.4 update adds mockup image downloads; Chrome Web Store approval is still pending.

Choose Products CSV, Variants CSV or full JSON backup

Choose Products CSV when you want to inspect listing names, status, descriptions, tags and related product information in Excel or Google Sheets. Choose Variants CSV when each product option, SKU, cost and price needs its own spreadsheet row.

Choose JSON backup when you need richer structured product data, including options, designs and image references. JSON is a backup of the data as exported; it is not a one-click restore into Printify. A CSV or JSON export does not automatically contain the actual mockup image files.

Step by step: export a Printify product catalog

Install Product Exporter for Printify from the Chrome Web Store. Generate a Printify API token in your own Printify account, save it in the extension, and choose the shop you want to inspect. Keep the token private and revoke it in Printify if you no longer need it.

Wait for products to load, then search by product title or ID or filter by publishing status. Select Export Data and choose Products CSV, Variants CSV or Full JSON Backup. The exported file is saved to your computer without creating or editing Printify products.

In v1.0.4, Free users can export the same first five fixed products per shop through these formats; Pro users can export the full selected catalog. The v1.0.4 package is ready but the Chrome Web Store listing may still serve an earlier version until approval.

How to download Printify mockup images

A Printify product mockup is a preview picture of a product, such as the rendered shirt or mug listing image. It is different from original source artwork in the Printify Media Library. Product mockup URLs in a CSV are links; they are not the image files themselves.

The prepared v1.0.4 extension adds Download Mockups. The Images badge displays the number of pictures in scope rather than the ZIP packaging format. One mockup can be saved directly; multiple product mockups are collected into a ZIP with product folders and a mockup index for finding files later.

The number of pictures depends on the products and Printify's returned mockup URLs. A product can have multiple mockups. Downloads may fail if a media URL expires or its host refuses the request; a bulk ZIP can include a failed-mockups record for troubleshooting. This feature is pending Chrome Web Store release approval.

Free five-product scope, Pro full catalog and what is excluded

The v1.0.4 Free plan uses five fixed product IDs per shop for Products CSV, Variants CSV, JSON backup and mockup downloads. Searching or sorting cannot change which five products are included; if a pinned product is deleted the allowance is not automatically filled with another product. Pro unlocks the full selected shop and advanced issue filters.

This tool does not download original Media Library artwork, upload or rename images in Printify, create products, restore backups into Printify, publish listings or manage orders. For bulk uploading design files to the Media Library, use the separate Bulk Uploader for Printify extension.

Product Exporter for Printify is an independent third-party tool, not an official Printify product. Review the current Chrome Web Store version before relying on features described as part of the pending v1.0.4 update.

FAQ

Is a mockup URL the same as a mockup image file?
No. A URL points to a media resource; with v1.0.4 you can download an individual picture or save multiple mockups in a ZIP archive.
Can I back up all product variants to a spreadsheet?
Yes. Variants CSV provides variant-level records. In the v1.0.4 plan, Free is limited to five fixed products per shop, while Pro covers the full selected shop.
Can I restore Printify products using the JSON backup?
No. JSON is an exported data file, not a built-in restore or product creation tool.
When will the mockup download feature appear in Chrome?
The v1.0.4 package is ready for submission. Chrome Web Store must approve and publish the update before ordinary installs receive it.
